Push Hands and Interactive Taijiquan.jpg

Recommended for all players, two person work is used to explore the interaction aspect of taiji.  Students can explore the importance of principles while applying and exploring the techniques practiced in the taiji empty hand forms.  Interactions can help taiji players learn to relax, center, and listen to a partner and their partners energies and body mechanics.  These interactions also help a taiji player discover weak points in their own practice that they will be able to correct when practicing their solo forms.

Push hands can be explored as an informative companion to the form and also as a competitive exploration of the martial side of taiji.  This class will not explore competitive push hands but will focus on cooperative learning.  Class material includes technique and drill training, as well as applications of specific Form postures.

One time visitors are welcome to join any class or seminar. They will be able to experience a small bit of our form and explore our focus on fundamentals, stance work and applications.  The single class rate of $20 would apply.

Class meets at the Pittsboro Community House, 65 Thompson St. November through March.  During this time, class is $60 per month, (missed classes can be made up in any other location, including Saturday Seminars); single class $25.

April through October this class meets at the Black Bamboo Pavilion.  During this time, class fees are $15 per class if paid in monthly blocks of 4-5 weeks; $20 for a single class.
